ABOUT THE INTENSIVES

Kommunity’s Kalari Intensives are immersive training programs designed for individuals with any fitness, dance, or somatic background who wish to expand their movement capabilities. These intensives span 7, 14, or 21 days and provide a unique opportunity to delve into the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu, known for its dynamic and holistic approach to movement.

WORKSOPS FORMATS

  • 7-Day Intensive: This foundational course consists of daily 90-minute sessions focusing on basic Kalaripayattu techniques, body conditioning, and introductory sequences. The sessions can be scheduled over consecutive days, alternate days, or spread across a month, making it ideal for beginners or those with limited time.

  • 14-Day Intensive: This in-depth exploration includes daily 90-minute sessions covering Kalari techniques, advanced body conditioning, and dynamic sequences. Participants will engage in partner work and explore Kalari's philosophical aspects. The sessions can be structured over two consecutive weeks, alternate days across a month, or spread over a more extended period, such as three months.

  • 21-Day Intensive: This comprehensive program features daily 90-minute sessions focusing on Kalari techniques, advanced body conditioning, and dynamic sequences. Participants will receive personalised feedback, engage in group discussions, and have opportunities to create and present their movement pieces. The sessions can be conducted consecutively, on alternate days across a month, or extended over three months, providing flexibility for participants' schedules.
